White and Nerdy...lol

Ok, I know that my title probably has you raising those eyebrows, is skeptical amusement and question, but please bare with me. Yesterday, I was introduced to one of the funniest songs that I've heard in the longest time, so I have to share it with you. It is so you SFL, and totally reminded me of Audrey's "I was born a small black child" line. Anyway, I hope that you laugh for all you are worth, and please don't take it for more than its worth...it is only a song. Have fun, just follow the link! :-)

equation-naming?!? TOO white and nerdy, fo sho'

So...

I can write HTML, and speak Klingon. Nevermind.

SFL, it reminded you of me?

*blinks confusedly*

I'm not nerdy.

I'm a hick.

Big difference (no fat jokes, please)!

:D

P.S. to Clair: that was really, really funny, what I understood of it, anyway. I think I would have had to watch the original, which I don't know if I would have been allowed to see...but still it was hilarious!! Thank you for making me laugh, as always...I love you, and hope to call you soon...

Poor SFL.

I'm afraid someone else will have to make you feel good...I don't know the answer. No clue. None at all.

And (unfortunately for your mental well-being, SFL) what is more, I *care* even less about the equation than I *know* about it...which is saying a great deal!

So...why don't you enlighten us all and share? I still won't know what you're talking about, but it will do you good to tell us about the equation (and thereby do the rest of us good because you will then get it out of your system!).

And...why, pray, does the video remind you of Clair? I have never thought of Clair as a nerd...

Don't fall asleep and fall off your chair while you're waiting. Remember poor Girtha isn't there to cushion your fall this time.

BTW, I don't know what "wansfl" means either.

And you never did tell me what your other acronym meant.

(Don't take it personally...I just hate math...)

:D

P.S. So you have false teeth then, and are an invertebrate? I never knew! Clair really does have alien parentage. (Which gives a whole new meaning to Lamarckism, yes?)

P.P.S. Just teasing, Clair, my dear! You know I love you! LOL! :)

Very well. Here you are.

From answers.com..."Schrödinger is known primarily as the creator of the wave equation for quantum mechanics, which he developed in 1926..."

I presume this is what you are so excited about?

Now that I have finally answered your question, will you please tell me why this is so crucial to my mental development?

You know, SFL, in case no one ever told you -- making people cry is not nice.

*sticks out tongue and wipes away tears of frustration*

Heh, heh, heh, heh.......

;D

Not to worry, SFL! Over the years, I've discovered that the best way to get out of assignments is to fake a wobbling lower lip and teary eyes. This works especially well on susceptible, easily influenced people such as yourself. ;)

In all seriousness, though, almost nothing makes me cry more quickly than having to solve a math problem. I usually have no idea where to start. It's like plopping me down in front of a book written in, oh, say, Mandarin or Cyrillic or Sumerian and asking me to translate...not gonna happen.

Nevertheless, I looked up the equation on the Internet and attempted to figure it out. Your clues helped, but I couldn't find anything that looked *exactly* like the one on the screen in back of Weird Al and the person who looks suspiciously like Donny Osmond (yes, I do know who Donny Osmond is...).

So, after about 15 minutes of fruitless search and frustration, I gave up, concluding that I wasn't about to make myself even more stressed out than usual over an equation that would most likely never noticeably affect my life.

I very much regret the damage done to your fragile mental state. Do allow me to apologise.

And now I have a question.

*clears throat and looks round apprehensively, to make sure of not being overheard*

*sotto voce*

What, exactly, are quantum particles?

And is part of the explanation of the equation referring to the nature of these, ehm, particles to sort of disappear under close observation and then reappear very close to where they were originally, once said scrutiny has ceased? I think I read something like that in my "research."

Yours pseudo-scientifically but certainly not mathematically,
Mary

P.S. Thank you for explaining your acronym. I am very bad at playing guessing games and notorious for failing to observe the obvious.
